How Does it Work?
Seniors' stories can take many shapes: childhood memories, family traditions, love stories, humorous encounters, friendships, emotional episodes, careers or travel adventures, to name a few. Visit Story Quest for thought-provoking questions, or look through old photos to jog your memory.

1. Initial Meeting
So that you and Chris can get to know each other a little before the storytelling session, she will come to your place of residence for an initial meeting. She will ask you to fill out a short questionnaire, and provide you with storytelling tips and printed handouts showing story topics, publishing options and costs. Together, you will discuss the entire process.
Appointment – During the meeting, you will make an appointment for the storytelling session. It’s important that you are relaxed and feeling good on the day of your session. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact Chris as soon as possible.

2. Storytelling Session
At the appointed time, Chris will arrive at your place of residence for your session. She will use a small, hand-held digital voice recorder to record your voice and produce an audio file. She will also collect any photos you want to include. You may choose to have a family member or friend present during the session. Chris can also edit and publish stories that are already written but may need a little polishing.
3. Transcribe, Edit & Review
Chris will then transcribe your audio file into text using Microsoft Word. She may need to contact you by phone or e-mail to clarify points in your story.
Once the file is transcribed, Chris will edit the text and create a first draft. She will either mail you a printed copy by post, or e-mail you the Word file.
Now it's your turn. You review the text and mark any changes or corrections, either on the printed copy or the Word version, and return it to Chris. You and Chris will work together until the text is final.

Now your story is ready to be published for you and your family to enjoy. Chris will arrange and format the text to match your publishing choice, and ensure it's delivered to you in a timely manner. Voila!
