"Ubuntu," a short documentary about the visit, was made by Wakefield Sound and Light. Chris edited the script and provided the narrative voiceover. At the film's premiere, she was recognized with a beautiful bouquet of roses. |
Wakefield Grannies: UbuntuThe Wakefield Grannies are a group of women from Wakefield, Quebec, who support "gogos," grandmothers in South Africa caring for their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2012, three Grannies visited the gogos to renew or establish personal contacts and gather information on joint efforts.
